I don't know about you, but I like to just DRIVE my car. Not every moment of our time out involves WOT. Sure the more we get at times, the better we feel, but it's just not possible to drive with our foot to the floor at every moment.
I've heard people say that the only way to get a tune right is to run it on the dyno. Sure with a dyno, WOT runs are easier to control, but this leads back to my previous statement. Are you at WOT on the street all the time? No, and if you are, just let me know so I can stay away from the police chase.
I tune cars to run on the street. I perform street tunes, because that is the BEST way to get real world results. You have to be there. Simulating it is possible, but you have to know everything about the car your simulating, and you need an operator willing to do that. It takes less time to turn onto your favorite road, and just cruise.
Next time your out for a drive, pay attention to how often you spend your time BELOW 3000 rpm's, and then recall the dyno time. How long were THEY below 3000 rpm's during the tuning session? _________________ My Vehicle:
