I was tempted to get in on that pre-order. I just didn't really like the way they went about it. No pics, no info, just a 1300 commitment. Im sure you won't be disappointed with them though.
I just have the ol' eXtremes on the way, along with some bushings for the front. I bought them new off a guy that I did panels for who totaled his car, and he made me a great deal shipped.
I would like to compare the xA to the eXtreme in ride quality. In all my searching, there has never been anyone install the eXtremes and be disappointed in any aspect of their performance. They only had shortcomings stated once Pedders brought out the xA pre-order. For what I do with the car, coilovers are overkill. Although I really would like to go to an instructor based road course event this year.

j-cash...I hope to get to the track. I would be happy with any 12.xxx timeslip, not really into drag racing the car hard.

One of these days I'll remember to bring the damn dyno sheet with me to my apartment where I have my scanner.

I keep changing my mind on what I want to do.
If I stay n/a, I'll need to go all out to get 500 rwhp. Realistically, with meziere pump its $3500.
The alternative is swap my cam, sell the Volant and UDP, and get a D-1SC next winter. I think it would only cost an extra 1500 over heads and gain about an extra 100 rwhp over heads.
Mike, we are going to need to do some chatting while you tune my car. I need to ride in Heath's...

So, what are your real power goals? Is there just a number you are looking for? Do you have any other goals for the car?

We can do a ton of chatting. While driving around I won't be as talkative since I'm paying attention to the data. Now we can discuss it, but I won't go into details until after tuning is completed.

Hmm, no set number at all. Just a fast street car. Keep it exciting. I would be hoping for 580 rwhp, but now that my job situation is all turned around all this is on hold! She will never be anything more than a street/show car...
Need to finish everything up that I have parts for, which is the suspension and get a solid tune in it for 09. I'll be content with that.
What is a good time for you to tune? April 4th would be perfect for me!
Also, are the HP credits that Jeff used going to be ok or will I need to re-purchase through you?

I have the dyno sheet in with my paperwork now, so it will be uploaded within the next few days.

I would need to use credits to license your car. Credits are for the tuner on that car, unfortunately not the car its self.

I can do the 4th, no problem. Are you going to be down near me? How did you want to meet up?

I'll head down your way and meet you where necessary.

I have considered purchasing HPT myself since I am planning on staying in the LS world for awhile. If thats the case with credits, I might try to purchase it and have you tune with my software to avoid buying more credits in the future. With my plans for the Camaro and GTO I would really like to know basic tuning just for small issues like Im having now.
Also, from planning out dates with my parents I might be out of the country on the 4th...jesus. Ignore me until I figure myself out. LOL. My life is a wreck in 09.

Update to this mess, I bought AFR 225 heads. Going to have TEA mill them 0.036" down to 66cc combustion chambers, and run 0.040" cometics. I believe that puts me at 11.32 SCR. Not crazy, and if I ever go FI I can swap gaskets and lower the CR back down.
I might have TEA massage them abit as well.
Hope to install everything in October. Mike can you still tune it sometime this year?
CRT performance in Norwalk has a dyno. We should have a dyno day there and go to the races at Summit some Saturday in October. Just a thought.

I can tune it, no problem.
I'd also check the piston to valve clearance while your at it. Should be no issues, but it's always nice to know those numbers with milled heads.

I'd love to run at Norwalk, but I'm not sure I'm even going to track the car this year. I didn't make the car for that, and I might just go out and enjoy it.
But if you do go when I'm in town, then I'll be there!

I can't afford a clutch this year, so no track passes for me. These heads have bankrupted me.

I was planning on checking the PTV with no gasket the next time I'm home. The extra 0.036" head thickness is washed out by not having a 0.040" gasket. That way I know what I'm starting with.
Mamo has said not to go below 66cc on the 72cc heads, the flow begins to drop rapidly from there on.
Would there be any negative to gently setting the head on there with no gasket? I would guess its fine for just checking clearance, but never heard of it being done that way. Just checkin'.
You recommend sticking with the stock lifters Mike?

Stock lifters are fine, and there is no reason to worry about setting the heads on without the gasket to check. Just don't have dirt or debris in between, which won't be an issue for you.
It sounds like your going to check PV clearance before you mill the heads, which is a great idea. I like it!
